? It’s always impressive when a keynote speech moves an audience. But what happens when Mother Nature gets to the audience first?
? Last week, while in San Francisco for the LPL Financial Achieve Conference, keynote speaker Vernice “Flygirl” Armour was on stage when Earth decided to shake things up a bit. During the middle of her keynote, the audience’s 1,500+ phones started vibrating simultaneously with an emergency signal, followed by an earthquake.
✈️ Did that take “FlyGirl” off her game? Not a chance. America’s First Black Female Combat Pilot and Former Marine gracefully read the message on her phone, telling the audience, “Oh, we’re having an earthquake,” before seamlessly segueing to a spontaneous story to ease the audience’s anxiety. That’s a keynote speaker who can handle pressure on the stage and in the sky!
? A huge shoutout to Vernice “FlyGirl” Armour for her grace and composure on stage, and to Cheryl Trinidad, SVP of Conference Experiences, and her team for a fantastic event!
