Biography

Tim Decker is a nationally touring performance speed painter who paints celebrity and patriotic portraits live in front of a crowd. Each painting takes roughly 4-7 minutes and the whole experience is set to music. He performs at corporate, charity and private events across the entire country.

Tim grew up in Brodheadsville, a small town in Eastern Pennsylvania and studied Media Communications at East Stroudsburg University. Decker never expressed much interest in art, only taking two art classes to fill his college schedule with less demanding classes. Then in 2009, Decker woke one morning after having a dream that would change the course of his life. Tim dreamed that he was speed painting on a beach boardwalk, though he had never heard of speed painting up until that point. He woke that morning, bought a gallon of paint, and painted his first portraitnone other than Mr.T! Thus began his journey.

It was something that came naturally, as if it was what he was meant to do. Tim picked up two brushes, one in each hand, and began painting with them at the same time. It took no time to adjust, it was as if he had been painting his entire life. He quickly realized this was his passion and hasnt put the brushes down ever sense.
He got his start performing at smaller festivals and from there has booked gigs around the world. He is now performing for some of the top companies and charities in the country including Mercedes Benz, Chick-fil-A, Merrill Lynch, and Porsche to name a few.

There are very few individuals who speed paint professionally and Tim has managed to develop his own unique style that focuses on making the most of negative space. His high energy show combines music, art, humor, and audience participation to create a performance event goers will talk about long after viewing. Tim is highly sought after for events which can be seen by his busy performance schedule. He is definitely causing a stir in both the worlds of fine art and performance art for his unique and modern take on public figures of today and yesterday!

Tim Decker

Tim Decker will bring his fun, high energy, 30 minute show to your next event. Tim will create 3 paintings of legendary icons during the show which are choreographed to music. The best part about it is, the paintings are all done completely from memory. He has no reference photos and turns a blank black canvas into a masterpiece in minutes. Tim is one of the only performance artists in existence who start with a completely blank canvas. (Beware of the other performance artists who pre draw the paintings on the canvas in pencil and simply fill them in.) Tim also incorporates a mix of comedy and audience interaction to create a fun atmosphere for the event attendees. It is more than a show; it is an EXPERIENCE that your guests will talk about long after viewing.

Testimonials

Tim's performance was the "knock out" we needed to make our 10th Anniversary year a huge success. As you know, it's hard to come up with fresh ideas every year to engage the audience. His performance was truly incredible. He is a terrific show- man, and our guests responded immediately with a resounding standing ovation! Tim was SO very easy to work with; he did all he promised and then some.

The only problem with Tim’s performance is that we don’t know how we can possibly top it next year.
