Book Dawn Staley through The Keynote Curators
Biography
Dawn Staley is one of the most accomplished figures in basketball history, excelling as both a Hall of Fame player and championship-winning coach. As head coach of the University of South Carolina women’s basketball team, she has led the Gamecocks to three NCAA National Championships (2017, 2022, 2024), multiple Final Four appearances, and numerous SEC titles, establishing the program as a national powerhouse.
A five-time National Coach of the Year, Staley is one of only a handful of coaches to win three or more women’s basketball national championships and the first Black coach to lead the U.S. Women’s National Team, guiding Team USA to Olympic and World Cup gold medals.
Before her coaching career, Staley was a legendary player, earning three Olympic gold medals, two National Player of the Year honors at the University of Virginia, and induction into both the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. Her impact extends beyond the court through community leadership, mentorship, and her nonprofit organization, INNERSOLE, which provides shoes to children in need.
She is also the author of the bestselling memoir Uncommon Favor, which shares the lessons, challenges, and mindset that shaped her remarkable journey from North Philadelphia to becoming one of the most influential leaders in sports.
