Years ago, my client booked a high-profile keynote speaker and insisted in having the CEO of the company act as the moderator. This was a big mistake. ❌

Both the meeting professional and myself urged, even begged the CEO to use a professional moderator for the fireside chat-style conversation, to no avail.

The CEO was not equipped to handle the strong personality of the speaker and quickly the fireside chat turned into a one-man show.

It made the CEO look ineffective and even weak and more importantly, the message that we all worked so hard on was completely lost. The session was ruined. ?
