Female sports speaker, role model, and professional surfer Carissa Moore is widely considered to be the most successful female surfer of her generation. Moore has become an icon, setting records in the World Surf League. She became the first woman to win an Olympic gold medal in surfing at the 2020 Olympic Games. She was also the first surfer at an Olympic Games who is Hawaiian.
Moore began her professional career in 2010, qualifying third in the WSL World Championship. She became Rookie of the Year and has since become a five-time WSL Women’s World Champion. With twelve years of professional surfing under her belt, Moore is passionate about encouraging young women to surf. Moore founded the Moore Aloha Foundation in 2018 to share her love of surfing through events aimed at bringing young girls together.
The Moore Aloha Foundation has partnered with several major surf events. These include the Super Girl Surf Pro, the Hurley Pro, and a surf-inspired workout with Surfset NYC and Gillette for their #SkinInTheGame campaign. Moore also started the Moore Aloha Global Exchange, where she selects five girls to spend ten days training with her in Hawaii.
