Indistractable: How to Control Your Attention and Choose Your Life

Ever get the feeling the world is full of too many distractions? Research shows the ability to stay focused is a competitive advantage, in work and in life. However, in an age of ever-increasing demands on our attention, how do we stay productive and stay sane? Nir Eyal, bestselling author of Hooked: How to Build Habit-Forming Products, wrote the book on the secret psychology behind the world's most engaging products and services. In his new book and talk, Indistractable, Nir provides the antidote to the current distraction crisis. But rather than blaming tech for our troubles, Nir dives into the root causes of distraction, exposing the surprising truth behind why we tend to go off track. Nir Eyal shares findings from his five years of research into how to master what he calls, "the skill of the century." Nir's entertaining, research-backed talk provides practical advice and memorable strategies for better managing our attention, our time, and our lives.

Hooked: How to Build Habit Forming Products

In an age of ever-increasing distractions, quickly creating customer habits is an important characteristic of successful products. How do companies create products people use every day? What are the secrets of building services customers love? How can we create products compelling enough to "hook" users? Nir Eyal, the bestselling author of "Hooked: How to Build Habit-Forming Products", has constructed a framework for designing better products and will share his years of research in this practical workshop. This hands-on class gives product managers, designers, and marketers a new way for thinking of the necessary components of changing user behavior by studying how the world's most engaging products keep users coming back again and again.

Consumer Behavior/Creating Habit Forming Products

Why do some products capture widespread attention while others flop? What makes us engage with certain products out of sheer habit? Is there a pattern underlying how technologies hook us? Nir Eyal answers these questions (and many more) by explaining the Hook Model—a four-step process embedded into the products of many successful companies to subtly encourage customer behavior.

Testimonials

Nir Eyal was the guest of honour at the graduation ceremony of Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, here in Budapest last week. He managed to grab and keep the attention of our gradutes which is no easy task. He gave two tremendous speeches customized to fit the circumstances. He absolutely engaged the audience and gave our graduates some really useful tips on how to live their life to the fullest, and how to manage their future careers better in a world full of distractions. On top of all that, Nir Eyal is a kind and amiable person. Truly the best guest one could ask/hope for. Highly recommend!
