How AI Can Democratize Healthcare and Shift Healthcare to the Home

AI is revolutionizing the Where, When, What, and How people access healthcare. Trained healthcare professionals and physical clinics are a limited and expensive resource. With location removed from the equation, shifting care to the home increases access and lowers the cost of delivery.

Major stakeholders including UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Medicare, Walmart, CVS/Aetna, Apple, Best Buy, Walgreens, and Amazon are contributing to the trend of healthcare services being offered in the home or nearest retail clinic.

Advancements in clinical-grade sensors, FDA-cleared AI software, Vocal Biomarkers, Remote Patient Monitoring, Digital Therapeutics, Voice Recognition, Decision Support Tools, Virtual Reality, and Predictive Care, and Generative AI are enabling this shift in care out of the clinics and hospitals. The rise in home-based diagnostic labs, remote clinical trials, in-home IVs, in-home dialysis, hospital-at-home, and urgent care at-home are transforming the healthcare paradigm from occasional clinic visits to continuous, 24/7 care in daily life.

Themes that can be covered within this keynote:
a) The Patient as CEO: How Technology Empowers the Healthcare Consumer
b) How Current Healthcare Businesses Can Keep Up with the Amazons & Apples
c) Advancing Health Equity through Technology: Breaking Down Barriers in Healthcare Access

Testimonials

This is my third MGMA annual conference, and my sixth MGMA conference in the past 2 years. Robin Farmanfarmaian is, easily, my favorite general session speaker to date. #healthcaredisruption isn't just here -- it's been around us for years, and it's only accelerating.
– Chris Harrop, Sr. Editorial Manager, MGMA

– Kartik Gada, Stanford University
@Robinff3 delivered an incredible general session this morning! She shared the innovations in healthcare technology that allowed her to take back her own health along with the tech that we'll be seeing in the future.
– MGMA
Robin Farmanfarmaian combines a personal story of triumph over medial challenges and misdiagnosis with an eloquent and compelling vision of medicine in the future. Her primary thesis is that patients should take charge of their own health care and that the tools to accomplish this are rapidly coming into everyone's hands. I've seen her speak a number of times especially since our themes overlap and she is an engaging and energetic speaker who connects with her audiences.
– Ray Kurzweil, Author, Computer Scientist, Inventor, and Futurist, Google
Technology is driving massive innovation right now, your success and impact is only limited by your imagination and ability to think BIG. Robin imagines a truly personalized future for the patient— a great overview of the accelerating technologies enabling this future to be the reality.
– Naveen Jain, Founder, Moon Express, World Innovation Institute, iNome
We are experiencing a medical revolution where exponential technologies will make each of us ‘the CEO of our own health.’ Robin personifies that message— she saved her own life by taking charge of her own treatment.”
– Peter H. Diamandis, MD, Co-Founder, Exec. Chairman, Singularity University, Chairman, XPRIZE Foundation
Robin’s story reinforces my belief in ‘INsight’— that is, seeing INTO our physiological processes and understanding them in ways never before possible, will change medicine forever.
– Vint Cerf, Internet Pioneer
