Born on August 8, 1996, in Columbia, South Carolina, A’ja’s journey to stardom began at an early age. Her father’s influence, as a former professional basketball player in Europe, sparked her interest in the sport. She honed her skills through dedication and a passion that would soon capture the nation’s attention. Her collegiate career at the University of South Carolina was nothing short of remarkable. Under the guidance of Coach Dawn Staley, A’ja led the Gamecocks to their first NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship in 2017.
